How to start a WordPress blog on Bluehost?

Welcome, today I’ll be sharing some tips about how to start a blog and how a simple blog can change your whole life and career.

Whether you are a student, job seeker, running a business, housewife, job retired, or an employee of the company not satisfied with salary or 9-5 shift and wanna change your life, then trust me this is the thing you should try!

So let’s discuss few things about a blog and then further I’ll show you how to start a blog.

What is a blog?

If you’re willing to share your ideas, thoughts, or experiences with this world, then you can start your blog and share them freely with this world.

You might be surprised to know but whatever term you search on internet and get the result is either a website or a blog.

For example, Wikipedia, Facebook, Amazon, BBC News, even this blog, everything is a blog or a website.

Types of websites/blogs:

There are actually three types of websites that are found around the internet, they are:

  • Either that will be a simple website
  • Either just a blog
  • Or website and blog together.

(Almost on every popular website you’ll find their blog)

Blog and Website Difference:

The difference between a website and a blog is,

A blog is updated on regular basis and your content appears in reverse chronological order on the home screen. That means your new post or a piece of content always appears on top of the old ones.

Usually, there are 4 main parts/sections in your blog:

  • Header: The header contains the logo, navigation, search bar, and other pieces of stuff.
  • Post Area: The post area contains content, comments, author details, and others.
  • Sidebar: The sidebar contains Adsense ads, authors’ details, and recent posts, etc.
  • Footer: One can add a second navigation area, and other important widgets.

I hope now you have enough idea of what is blog and how does it looks.

How to Create a Blog on WordPress?

Now let’s, move on to how to start a blog. So basically you need 3 things to start a blog of your choice and that are:

  • Domain
  • Hosting
  • Blogging Platform

The domain means the name of your website like,,, and so on.

The name of your domain mainly consists of two parts:

  • The name of your choice.
  • Domain extensions.

Domain Name:

  • For the domain name, you can select any topic, niche, or your name or the name of your brand.
  • You can also select any keyword which will indicate the specific niche and topic of your blog.

Domain Extension:

  • The second half is the domain extension like .com, .org. .io, .co, .net and so on.
  • If you are targeting a global audience then you should use .com, .org, .net, .info.
  • If you are targeting an audience from a specific country then you can go for .us, .in, .eu, .ca, and so on.

It might take little effort to find the domain name of your choice, as many of the domain names are already registered or sold. But still, you can find many of them if you dig well.

If you try 10-15 domain names with different domain extensions then you’ll definitely find the domain of your choice.

Make sure to add them to your wishlist so that they don’t get lost and then buy one of your choices.

By using the tool below you can easily find the domain name of your choice, so make sure to check that out:

Whatever you see on your desktop, mobile, or tablet whether it’s a text, image, audio, or video, they are all files.

And to store these files there is a hard disk on your desktop/laptop, memory card on your mobile phone/tablet. And only you can access those files available on your devices.

But whatever you find on the internet such as web pages, images, audio, video can be seen by anyone on this planet. And the reason is every file you find on the internet is stored on such devices that are connected through all other devices which are known as “SERVERS“.

So if you wanna start your blog then you also need such servers for few dollars. Some of them are cheap and some of them are expensive.

There are many companies which provide these facilities by providing you disc spaces or you can say they host your website. And these companies are known as “Web Hosting“.

After purchasing a domain name, you need to buy a hosting service to host/live your domain.

Types of Hosting services:

There are four types of hosting services, they are:

  • Shared Hosting: If you are starting a new blog then shared hosting is perfect for you as it is not expensive so as a beginner it’s quite affordable.
  • VPS Hosting: If you are having an established blog then you can use VPS hosting.
  • Cloud Hosting: If your blog traffic is much higher then go for Cloud Hosting.
  • Dedicated Hosting: Dedicated hosting is mainly used by big brands or organizations like Amazon, BBC news, and many more.

Blogging Platform:

And the final step to set up and start a blog is a blogging platform. you’ll find many blogging platforms on the internet such as WordPress, Wix, Drupal, Joomla, and Blogger.

The platform which I highly recommend is WordPress as it is the easiest and best way to start a blog or website

WordPress is an open-source content management system (CMS). Open source means free to use and free to modify the blog/website.

CMS means to manage or modify your blog or website with just a simple click, without any coding knowledge through plugins.
