Chicken and Shrimp Paella

Paella is one of the most popular dishes in Spain and I must say this recipe deserves to be the best, I mean this recipe is just an amazing combination of flavors and everything which a foodie person likes.

Today we will be making an amazing Spanish recipe in one-pot so it’s our one-pot paella version.

And trust me it turns out so good and T-A-S-T-Y, that no one can resist completing the plate full of this recipe.

So without any delay let’s get started. First of all let’s have a look at our ingredients;

Shrimp: A widely used seafood and my personal favorite, and shrimps are full of nutrition. The benefits of shrimps are low in calories and high in protein. Shrimps contain antioxidants and promote brain health as it contains omega-3.

Chick Peas: Chickpea adds a very creamy and rich flavor to the recipe. Chickpea are very healthy and nutritious. Chickpea promotes heart health and may help prevent some cancers.

Snap Peas: Snap peas adds a crunch and a slight sweet taste.

Green Beans: Green beans a very fresh and crunchy bean to add a nutrition and green color to the recipe.

Chicken Stock: Chicken stock adds a very amazing flavor and it will help our rice to cook well.

Saffron Strands: A very expensive spice made from very special flowers. Saffron strands are used in desserts in many countries and also in many main course dishes. Saffron strands add a vibrant light orange color and an amazing aroma to the recipe.

Rosemary: Rosemary adds a strong aroma complementing many food recipes.

Products and ingredients I have used are mentioned below:

  • Frying pan: Heats quickly and evenly, perfect for stir-frying.

  • Chicken stock: Perfect for braising, sauces, and gravies.
  • Saffron strands: Perfect to enhance colour and overall flavor of any recipe.

Let’s get started with our One-Pot Paella recipe.

In a bowl, add 10 pieces of shrimp (Prawns), 1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp crushed black pepper, and coat the prawns in salt-pepper mixture.

In a pan, add 2 tbsp of oil and stir fry prawns (shrimps) until they turn pink. Transfer prawns (shrimps) into a plate and keep it aside.

Now in the same pan, add 1 tsp of salt and then add 450 grams chicken cut into pieces and stir fry chicken. After few minutes add 2 bay leaves and fry for 12-15 minutes. And after that transfer chicken into a plate.

Now in the same oil, add 1 cup snap peas and 1 cup green beans and stir fry until they turn brown. Then after add 3 cloves of minced garlic and fry until turns golden brown.

Now add, 1/4 cup chopped onion, 1 chopped bell pepper and saute for few minutes. Now add, 1 tsp red chili powder,2 tbsp tomato puree and stir well.

Add fried chicken to the pan, and mix well. Pour 2 cups of chicken stock, 1 1/2 cups of water, and add salt to taste. Add 1/4 tsp of saffron strands and mix well. Now add 2 cups of rice, and cook on medium heat.

Now on the top of rice, add fried shrimp and rosemary/ parsley and cover it with lid and cook for 10-12 minutes on low heat.

And after that they are ready to be served. Serve hot with slices of lemon.
