Hey, guys today I’m making Easy Italian Meatball Recipe.

Now there are many variants of this one in Italy, I am making the one that I like the best which only has few ingredients.

Everyone likes meatballs and everyone tries to create their own recipe or version.

You might have tried many meatballs versions in restaurants but this one is pure love I mean just look how beautiful they are. Anyone will crave this one.

So let’s have a look at our ingredients for easy italian meatball recipe…

500 grams of ground beef, 100 grams of Parmigiano Reggiano, 100 grams of bread crumbs, 2 eggs, 2 garlic cloves, a pinch of salt, a scratch of pepper, a bunch of parsley and of course you’re gonna need a little drizzle of extra virgin olive oil to fry them afterward.

And guys, it’s important that you dry let the meat dry a little bit before cooking it well.

Ground Beef: Beef has many health benefits. As we all know humans have been eating beef from prehistoric times and they are very nutritious. There are many tasty and easy to make beef recipes which I think one should try.

Parmigiano Reggiano: Parmigiano Reggiano is an Italian hard and granular cheese made from cow’s milk. This cheese is grated over many kinds of pasta, soups, risottos, and eaten on its own.

Bread Crumbs: This ingredient will help us to coat our meatballs and give them nice and crisp crust, which is really beautiful when deep fried.

Eggs: I think everyone knows that eggs are now a very important part of our breakfast, lunch, and dinner or you can say we can eat them at any time. And eggs have many health benefits as they are rich in proteins which helps in muscle building and growth.

How to make Easy Italian Meatball Recipe?

Let’s get started with our Easy Italian Meatball recipe,

Guys get ready to get your hands dirty it’s gonna get messy let’s start.

I’m putting the beef at the bottom and I’m gonna add the breadcrumbs and grate Parmesan cheese. Let’s add the salt I’m gonna go a little bit generous with the salt a pinch of a generous pinch of salt in a scratch of pepper.

Now add kindly grated cheese. So I am adding the Parmigiano cheese, this is nice. And then I am adding two eggs.

Now chop your parsley finely and add it to the bowl. Now two cloves of garlic in, I am using two small garlic cloves and mixing them.

Now I’m making the meatballs it smells divine and it’s pretty good. What I’m doing is I’m making little tiny but bite-sized.

You can even use them as appetizers it’s also much easier to cook the smaller it cooks much faster see the inside without burning the outside.

Let’s add a tiny a large drizzle of olive oil. Now, guys, I’m putting them on a low to medium flame and I’m gonna cook them. Let’s add a little pinch of salt.

Shake your pan on every one or two minutes so that every side is cooked well. Cook them until they turn nice and brown for 10-12 minutes and then take them out on a plate. Garnish our Italian meatballs with fresh parsley.

Why do you put milk in meatballs?

Adding milk to breadcrumbs makes the meatballs more soft and moist. If you are using little bit stale bread, adding milk to the breadcrumbs, helps us to keeps our meatballs soft and also adds a better taste to the meatballs.

How many eggs do you need for meatballs?

For making Italian meatballs we need only 2 eggs.

Adding eggs to the meatballs adds a spongy and airy texture which is amazing. FOr every one pound of meat, we need only 1-2 eggs. Do not add too much of bread crumbs, only half cup of bread crumbs per pound is enough.

Why should I use freshly grated Parmesan cheese?

Okay, let me just give you a tip, if you want the best and softest meatballs, try to use Parmigiano that is freshly grated. Don’t buy the one in the bag because it’s super dry. so freshly grated cheese is gonna add a lot of moisture to your meatballs as well.

Why I cannot use garlic powder in meatballs?

Using garlic powder or fresh garlic is completely one’s personal choice. But I would suggest using freshly chopped garlic as they add strong taste to our meatballs. Garlic powder sometimes tastes bitter and can cuin the taste of our meatballs. And that’s obvious that packed items can not neat the fresh one’s.

What are fried meatballs called?

Fried meatballs are called  Polpettine di bar.

Why do meatballs fall apart?

Usually, the common problem of falling meatballs apart is the binder. As many of the meatballs recipes consist of a mixture of bread crumbs and eggs. Adding too much of bread crumbs makes the meatballs dry and then meatballs lose their ability to hold and hence they fall apart.

Why do meatballs get hard?

When meatballs are cooked be sure to keep enough space between them. Do not overcrowd the pan or else they will result in hard, rubbery and chewy meatballs which no one likes.

Here is the tip: Oil your hand properly and form the balls gently rolling into your palm. Make balls of even size that is almost one inch big balls, not too big and not too small.

This sized ball gets cooked easily and quickly without getting burned and getting chewy and hard.

Can meatballs be a little pink in the middle?

No, Your meatballs should be perfect and of the same color inside. Usually pink color in meat shows that your meatballs are not cooked or undercooked that is not good.

Eating raw meat or undercooked meat is not good for health.

Ingredients

  • 500 g Ground beef
  • 100 g Parmesan cheese
  • 100 g Bread crumbs
  • 2 Eggs

Instructions

  • In a big bowl, add ground beef, bread crumbs, grated cheese, minced garlic, eggs, chopped parsley, and mix well.
  • Now form one inch sized balls of equal size.
  • In a pan, add extra virgin olive oil and add meatballs and cook for 20 minutes until they turn brown and crisp.
  • And after 20-25 minutes when meatballs are cooked serve them on a plate.

Notes

Keep shaking the pan so that the meatballs do not stick the pan.
Add wet breadcrumbs for more flavor and extra soft meatballs.
Do not overcrowd the pan or else your meatballs will turn hard, chewy, and rubbery.
